Many travelers choose a cruise ship as their vacation. It offers the luxury of hotels while getting to travel to different locations. Choosing a cabin on a cruise ship is just as important as choosing a hotel when traveling to a land destination. There are many things to consider such as location on the ship view from the window and the different prices. Most cruise ships offer numerous different categories of cabins for guests to choose from. As with any vacation the wrong room accommodation could ruin a trip so do plenty of research and make the choice that best fits your needs.
If there are many other co-owners of the ship to split the operating expenses of the ship it can be affordable for those with a moderate level of income such as a retirement check. I do have specific operating cost figures but I won`t bore you with that data. The bottom line is that it would not be prohibitively expensive for a middle-class average person to be able to afford to own a fraction of a cruise ship and be able to afford to live on the cruise ship full-time if they elect to do so.
Do the math. If one hundred buyers pool resources in exchange for a percentage of ship ownership the acquisition cost will be divided by that same number. One percent ownership of a $250000 cruise ship would cost a mere $2500 for ship acquisition. At the other end of the scale one percent ownership of a brand new mega cruise ship would cost five million dollars.
Location of the cabin regardless the size is very important. How close do you want to be to the upper deck? Do you have children who will be hard to travel up and down flights of stairs with every day? Where is the cabin in relation to the engine or water lines? Be sure to look at a map of the cruise ship before choosing a cabin location. Many people are not very concerned about where their cabin is since they will just be sleeping there. However on longer cruises your cabin will be the only private place you have to get away from all the noise and relax. You may want to be certain the cabin is far away from the main deck to ensure it will be a quiet area. On the other hand perhaps you enjoy the party do not plan on sleeping much and would prefer a cabin close to all the action. Choosing a cabin is very important as an uncomfortable cabin could make for a very uncomfortable trip.
While onboard one of NCL`s executives asked me what I thought of the ship and what type of client it would be best suited for. Without hesitation I responded that the Epic would be most appreciated by the client who has been on many cruise ships and now wants to experience something truly unique. Consistent with that it`s no coincidence that my wife booked the 15-year anniversary cruise for Direct Line Cruises` staff on the NCL Epic and now that we`ve gotten a small taste of it we can hardly wait until September when we set sail on the Epic for 7 nights.
